ING is using Apache Flink for creating streaming analytics ('fast data') solutions. A cross boarder team created a platform with Flink, Kafka and Cassandra that offers high-throughput and low-latency, ideally suited for complex and high demanding use cases in the international bank, such as customer communication and fraud detection. This scenario require fast data processing and a business rules engine and/or machine learning evaluation system. Integrating these components together in an always-on distributed architecture can be challenging. In this talk, Giuseppe will start with an overview of the Actionable Insights solution build on top of the streaming analytics platform. After that, he will deep dive in Apache Flink. You will learn the benefits of Flink, you will see a benchmark comparison of Flink with other open source streaming solutions and you will learn how to start with it.
